Albert House Nursing Home is situated close to the Weston-super-Mare seafront. We strive to give each of our residents a positive life, full of respect, dignity and kindness: their comfort, their choices and their happiness are the constant priorities of this family-run care home.
- Professional 24/7 care for residents requiring regular medical attention or specific care to be delivered by a Registered Nurse and our trained carers.
- A safe, comfortable environment for residents with dementia or dementia-related illnesses, physically and emotionally supported 24/7 by trained staff.
- Dignified, respectful 24/7 end of life care, providing psychological, social and physical support for residents, and ensuring they are comfortable and pain-free.
- Short stay care, giving people a well deserved break or a place to recuperate after an operation, illness or accident, including a trial stay before a permanent move.
“Will my loved one be safe in Albert House Nursing Home?”
It is a question now being asked and unfortunately there are no guaranteed answers. Nursing homes are a collection of people living and working in a relatively confined space — when COVID-19 gets into such an environment it has proven to be deadly. Watch the news or Government advice to understand the risk and also the fear created by this virus. However, most care homes haven’t had COVID-19 and Albert House is one of those. Indeed, the South-West has proved to be at a lower risk than elsewhere in Great Britain. COVID-19 related deaths in care homes are falling quickly and one hopes that soon the risk will be much lower and life gets back to normal. Staying free of COVID-19 during the darkest days of the epidemic shows that the precautions and prevention disciplines in Albert House have worked so far and we hope to remain free of the virus.
We must also mention the risks of staying at home for many elderly, which must be weighed against the benefits and security provided in a nursing home, including company, nursing care, hydration, help with washing and dressing, and care for those with dementia. We can’t absolutely prevent falls (one of the biggest risks for the elderly) but, should your loved one fall, our team is constantly on hand to provide assistance.
Every resident and staff member in Albert House has been tested and found negative but this is no guarantee for the future and the Government’s provision of testing is sporadic. We will continue to do our best to prevent the virus coming into the home. We “barrier nurse” new residents for 14 days, though this may be adjusted depending on the person’s history of testing or shielding. Please call us and we will be happy to discuss any questions you may have on this or any other financial or health- related issues.
Very friendly and caring staff. Nothing was too much for them to do if I asked. Always checking on the residents that everything was alright.
It is difficult to see how they could offer better care. The whole place is lovely and clean and a pleasure to visit.
After looking at other Homes it was a relief to walk into Albert House Nursing Home and feel it’s calm family atmosphere.

Behind a modest Victorian facade lies a state-of-the art care facility. Over £2 million was spent to convert and extend 5 terraced houses into a comfortable home for our Residents with en-suites for all rooms and multiple lounges and communal areas.
What really makes Albert House a special place is our dedicated, motivated team of nurses, carers and support staff. They are selected based upon their loving natures and we encourage them to improve themselves through training and support. They take great pride in what they do, and we take great pride in them!
