Nursing care is appropriate for those people who require regular medical attention or require specific care to be delivered by a Trained Registered Nurse. The residents are cared for by Albert House’s team of specialist registered nurses, supported by a team of qualified care assistants, regularly visited by a GP and other specialist clinicians.

Albert House also caters for the needs of residents diagnosed with dementia or dementia-related illnesses, though we do not look after violent or serious disturbed patients (normally these patients are looked after by EMI homes). Albert House provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents requiring this category of care and specialist staff is on hand 24 hours a day to give treatment and offer extra support to residents.

The main cause of dementia is the deterioration of brain function, which affects memory (forgetfulness), concentration, reasoning and even general day to day life skills. The most common types of dementia-related illnesses are Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia and dementia with Lewy Bodies.

Palliative care (also referred to as end of life care) provides psychological, social and physical support for residents when their condition no longer responds to medical treatment. It is centered first and foremost on ensuring patients are comfortable and pain-free as they live out the rest of their lives with dignity and respect.

We fully appreciate that this is a very traumatic time for all concerned. Our aim is to improve the quality of life and we are committed to ensuring full involvement of family members, friends and carers.

Short stay care, also known as Respite Care, is about giving people a well deserved break. We understand that every once in a while carers and the people they are caring for need a holiday, a chance to relax, or a place to help recuperate after an operation, illness or accident. Albert House provides a supportive, comfortable and safe environment with 24-hour expert care. We can offer stays from just a couple of weeks or alternatively, if you are looking for a Care Home for a loved one then a short stay on a trial basis can be helpful before deciding on a permanent move.

Understandably, the cost of paying for private nursing and residential care can be significant, and this is often a concern for the resident and their family. We aim to offer the highest standards of care available at affordable prices. Fees are calculated on a weekly basis, and depend on the type of care required and the size of bedroom chosen. Costs are based on many factors including the type and category of care you require and even the size of bedroom you need.
