Real Ale Festival – 26th July 2013
What a choice of drinks at the Weston Beer and Cider Festival. Some of our Residents went for a drink and a roast pork roll. Personally thought the ‘Strawberry Line’ ale was delicious.
Doggy visit 9/7/2013
Missy, a gorgeous Black Labrador came to visit us today and the needless to say the Residents loved her.
Picnic on the beach – 9th July 2013 lunch
Delayed because its too hot! Can you believe for so many times we have to delay events as its raining or cold and now its too hot. So we will schedule a future day when the Residents won’t boil and the staff expire pushing them in the heat.

Apex Park in Burham-on-Sea Monday 1st July 2013
Outing by bus to the Apex Leisure & Wildlife Park. 42-acre park packed with birds. We walked all the way round and fed the swans, ducks and seagulls (yep can’t avoid seagulls in this area). Then had a great lunch of roast pork sandwiches etc. Fun day out, everybody enjoyed it and demanded when the
Airday Weston-super-Mare – 22nd June 2013
Fun day out for all. The rain held off but it was a bit windy and sadly that resulted in the Memorial Flight being cancelled. Oh well but we did see some planes, listened to WWII songs and enjoyed some chips.
Summer Solstice – 21st June 2013
Painting pictures of the green man in the activities room, though the weather wasn’t very summerlike.
New Artwork in entrance
A beautiful handmade glass panel has been installed in the entrance lobby. ‘Dragonflies’ by artist Andy Watts (website enchantedhare.com).
See the Sand Sculptures – delayed due to weather, planned during warmer days
We will take the Residents down to see the great ‘Hollywood’ themed sand sculptures. Relatives welcome to join us.
Roof Garden to go wild!
We have not done so well with the sedum on our roof garden. It seems our Weston weather… or is it wind blown salt?… kills it. So, instead, we are creating a wildflower roof garden and will be seeding in September for a beautiful display next year. So let’s hope it works and look out
Making the most of the sunny days
Many of the Residents were out in the courtyard soaking up the rays (our courtyard is made of bouncy rubber to protect from falls).
Anniversary of the Royal Wedding Date: Prince William and Kate – 29th April 2013
We broke out the flags and had a little celebration to mark a year of marriage between Prince William and Kate. Congratulations to the happy couple.
