Well Vicky succeeded so very well in getting a group of our Residents chatting about their childhood, including toys and home life. Can’t be in Somerset and not have a cider tasting. Tasting of 4 different bottled ciders to try including a oak vintage and medium sweet from Herefordshire and in the Somerset corner a medium and medium sweet from 2 Somerset producers. Will our Residents prefer Hereford’s offering or 2 of Somerset’s

Bonnets and chocolate. Everybody got a Thorntons Easter Egg and small eggs were hunted out by the Residents.

The Residents really enjoyed Stepping into Spring, with plenty of singing along to the Easter songs. The show, done by 2 professional singers, including many interesting facts about Easter.

Irish flags everywhere, the odd Leprechaun hiding around the corner, certainly no pots of gold :-(    Michael made an excellent Braised Beef and Guinness stew that disappeared in double quick time.

Even though we have no Japanese staff, we do have many Japanese items including fish windsocks, sand painting, Japanese Fans and kimonos. Great fun with Japanese flags painted by the Residents. Thanks to our Chef Michael for the lovely Japanese buffet which all disappeared.

French cheese and wine tasting, great combination. We all look forward to that. Takes place just before lunch.

Every year we have at least one choir come along and sing carols to our Residents. Please come and listen to them.  Next year we will ask them back.

Iris has been with us many years and celebrated her 92nd Birthday.
